REFITTING AND ASSEMBLING PISTON CON
RODS
Go to the cylinder liner-pistonreplacement section.
The parts in the cylinder liner-piston section are
identical to those used for this operation.
Mark the parts in each box from A to D to ensure they
remain identical.
Completely dissolve the non-stick film without
scratching the parts.
Oil the gudgeon pin.
Check that the gudgeon pins rotate properly in the new
piston and the corresponding con rod.
Some con rods are pierced to allow an oil jet to pass
through; ensure that these are not blocked.
Ensure that the piston and con rod are fitted the right
way round:
Normally aspirated engine
Turbo engine
Fit the con rod bearing shells.
