Crosshatch Pattern On Oil Dipstick
A—Crosshatch Pattern On Oil Dipstick
IMPORTANT: DO NOT add makeup oil until the oil
level is BELOW the ADD mark on
dipstick. John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN
OIL (TY22041) should be used to make
up any oil consumed during the
break-in period.
3. Check engine oil level more frequently during engine
break-in period. If oil must be added during this period,
John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL is preferred. See
ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL, in Fuels, Lubricants, and
Coolant Section.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use PLUS-50
Engine Oil
during the break-in period of a new
engine or engine that has had a major
overhaul. PLUS-50
oil will not allow a
new or overhauled engine to properly
wear during this break-in period.
DO NOT fill above the crosshatch
pattern (A) or the FULL mark, whichever
is present. Oil levels anywhere within
the crosshatch are considered in the
acceptable operating range.
