Cleaning and Storage
Storage Tips
CAUTION
Starting the engine during the storage period will dis turb the
protective film c reated by fogging and damage could occur. Never
start the engine during the storage period.
Clean the Exterior
Make any necessary rep airs and cl ean the vehicle as recommended. See
page 104.
Stabilize the Fuel
1. Fill the fuel tank.
2. Polaris Carbon Clean is a fuel stabilizer and fuel system dryer. It
cleans the fuel system, the combustion chamber and the exhaust
ports. It also prevents bacterial growth and promotes better
starting after the storage period.
NOTE: Carbon Clean removes water from fuel systems, stabilizes
fuel and removes carbon depos its from p istons, rings, valves
and exhaust systems.
3. Allow the engine to run for 15--20 minute s to allow the sta bilize r to
disperse thr ough the f uel in the ta nk and c arburetor.
4. T urn the f uel va lve of f.
5. Drain the c arburetor bowl.
Oil and Filter
Change the oil and filter. See page 70.
Air Filter / Air Box
1. Inspect and clean (or replace) the pre-cleaner and air filter.
2. Clean the air box.
3. Drain the se diment tube .
Breather Filter
Inspect and clean or replace the breather filter.
Recoil Housing
Drain the recoil housing. See page 93.
