When the doors are locked using one of the
following methods, the doors can not be opened
using the inside or outside door handles. The
doors must be unlocked to open the doors.
WARNING
Always have the doors locked while
driving. Alongwith theuse ofseat belts,
this provides greater safety in the event
of an accident by helping to prevent
persons from being thrown from the
vehicle. This also helps keep children
and others from unintentionally open-
ing the doors, and will help keep out
intruders.
Before opening any door, always look
for and avoid oncoming traffic .
Donot leavechildren unattendedinside
the vehicle.They couldunknowingly ac-
tivate switches or controls. Unattended
children could become involved in seri-
ous accidents.
LOCKING WITH KEY
The powerdoor locksystem allowsyou tolock or
unlock all doors at the same time.
Turning thekey toward thefront

of thevehicle
locks all doors.
Turningthe keyonetimetoward therear

ofthe
vehicle unlocks that door. From that position,
returningthe keytoneutral

(wherethe keycan
only be removed and inserted) and turning it
toward the rear again within 5 seconds unlocks
all doors

Opening windows (if so equipped)
The driver’s door key operation allows you to
open windows equipped with automatic opera-
tion at the same time.
To open the windows, turn the door key
toward the rear of the vehicle for longer
than 1 second after the door is unlocked.
Windows stop whenthe key cylinder isreleased.
The door windows cannot be closed by the
driver’s door key.
