Setting a Destination to a Place
After saying “NAVIGATION,” the command “PLACES”
allows you to select a nearby place category. The
category selection will show the 5 nearest places in
the chosen category.
To customize this list, please refer to the OTHER
SETTINGS section of your Navigation Owner’s Manual.
DISPLAYING THE USER GUIDE TUTORIALS
You can confirm how to use voice recognition by accessing a simplified User Guide. The guide
contains basic instructions for using voice recognition and tutorials for several voice commands.
1. Push INFO.
2. Highlight [Voice Recognition] and push ENTER.
3. Highlight [User Guide] and push ENTER.
4. Highlight the desired topic and push ENTER
to begin the tutorial.
ALTERNATE COMMAND MODE
For advanced operation, you can change to an Alternate Command Mode that enables the control
of the audio system and climate control through voice recognition. Additional commands are also
available for phone and navigation systems. When this mode is active, the expanded list of commands
can all be spoken after pushing the
switch, and the voice command menu prompts are turned off.
1. Push SETTING.
2. Highlight [Others] and push ENTER.
3. Highlight [Voice Recognition] and push ENTER.
4. Highlight [Alternate Command Mode] and push
ENTER.
5. To confirm the new mode, push the
switch.
6. Verify that the screen changes to the one shown here.
The system will stop speaking and show all available
commands.
Only the commands shown on the right will remain
as reminders.
Review the new command lists in the Owner’s
Manual as some commands are replaced.
Speaker Adaptation
When Alternate Command Mode is selected, it is recommended that the Speaker Adaptation
procedure be performed to train the system to your voice. Speaker Adaptation allows up to three
users to train the system to improve recognition accuracy. By repeating a number of commands,
the users can create a voice model of their own voice that is stored in the system.
