10-2 Getting Connected
The GPRS/EDGE connection settings for several mobile phone operators
have been built into the device. Simply select the proper connection setting
for your service provider.
1. Tap
Programs GPRS Settings.
2. Select your country and service provider, and tap the
Apply soft key
ok.
Starting and Ending a GPRS/EDGE Connection
To start the connection, simply use the desired program. For example, switch
to Internet Explorer Mobile and browse to a web page. Your device will
automatically connect.
To end the connection, tap the
or icon on the Navigation bar and then
tap
Disconnect.
Modem Connection
With a modem, you can dial in to your ISP or corporate network.
Before creating the connection, you need to:
Have a modem (SDIO card). (For installation information, see the
documentation supplied with the product.)
Obtain the following information from your ISP or network
administrator: server phone number, user name, password, domain name
and TCP/IP settings.
Creating a Modem Connection
1. Tap Settings Connections Connections.
2. In
My ISP or My Work Network, tap Add a new modem connection.
Follow the instructions in the New Connection wizard.
3. To view additional settings, tap
.
NOTE: To change modem connection settings, in either My ISP or My Work Network,
tap Manage existing connections. Select the desired modem connection, tap Edit
and follow the on-screen instructions.
