Checking free play of hand brake lever
Warning
Danger of accidentsಗBrake system failure.
ಥ If there is no free travel on the hand brake lever, pressure builds up on the front brake in the brake system. The front brake
can fail due to overheating. Adjust free travel on hand brake lever according to specifications.

ಥ Push the hand brake lever forwards and check free play..

» If the free travel does not meet specifications:
ಥ adjust the basic position of handbrake lever. ( P. 39)

ಥ Adjust the basic setting of the handbrake lever to your hand size by turning adjust-
ing screw
.

If you turn the adjusting screw clockwise (as seen in the direction of travel),
the handbrake lever moves nearer to the handlebar.
If you turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise (as seen in the direction of
travel), the handbrake lever moves away from the handlebar.
The range of adjustment is limited.
Turn the adjusting screw by hand only, and do not apply any force.
Do not make any adjustments while riding!
ಥ Check the free play of the hand brake lever. ( P. 39)
Checking front brake fluid level
Warning
Danger of accidentsಗBrake system failure.
ಥ If the brake fluid level falls below the MIN mark, this indicates a leakage in the brake system or worn-out brake linings.
Have the brake system checked in an authorized KTM workshop, and do not ride any further.

Danger of accidentsಗReduced braking due to old brake fluid.
ಥ Have the front and rear brake fluid replaced according to the service plan in an authorized KTM workshop.

ಥ Move the brake fluid reservoir mounted on the handlebar to a horizontal position.
ಥ Check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir

ಥ Top up the brake fluid of the front brake. ( P. 40)
