9.24Adjusting play of steering head bearing x
– Jack up the motorcycle. ( p. 38)

– Loosen screw . Remove screw .
– Loosen and retighten screw .

Screw, top steering head M20x1.5 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
– Using a plastic hammer, tap lightly on the upper triple clamp to avoid strains.
– Fully tighten screw .

Screw, top triple clamp M8 17 Nm
(12.5 lbf ft)
– Mount and tighten screw .

9.25Removing the fork legs x

Remove front wheel. x ( p. 64)

– Remove screws and remove the clamp.
– Remove cable clip , remove screw and remove the brake caliper.
– Allow the brake caliper and brake line to hang tension-free to the side.

– Unscrew screws . Take out the left fork leg.
– Unscrew screws . Take out the right fork leg.

Info
The topmost milled groove in the fork leg must be flush to the upper edge of
the upper triple clamp.
Position bleeder screws toward the front.
