Nothing appears on
the display
The batteries are not loaded properly.
Verify that the batteries’ polarities =
and - are correct ( P.14).
Battery power is getting low.
Replace with new batteries ( P.14).
The power is off.
Turn the power on ( P.18).
Won’t start
Battery power is getting low.
Replace with new batteries ( P.14).
The power is off.
Turn the power on ( P.18).
The recorder is in HOLD mode.
Release the recorder from HOLD
( P.19).
Unable to record
Low remaining memory.
Erase unnecessary files ( P.42).
The maximum number of files has
been reached.
Change to the another folder
( P.24 to P.27).
No playback tone
heard
The earphone is connected.
Unplug the earphones to use the
internal speaker.
The volume level is set to [00].
Adjust the volume level ( P.33).
The recording level has not been
adjusted.
Adjust the recording level and then try
recording once more ( P.47).
Recording level too
low
The microphone sensitivity is too low.
Set the microphone sensitivity to
[High] or [Middle] mode and try again
( P.47).

the output level for the connected
external devices are too low.
