PLUG INSTALLATION
(1) Fit a new O-ring in the front case.
(2) Tighten the plug to the specified torque using the special
tool.

OIL PRESSURE SWITCH INSTALLATION
Specified sealant: 3M ATD Part No. 8660 or equivalent
Caution

Keep the end of the thread portion clear or sealant.

Avoid an overtightening.

OIL PAN INSTALLATION
(1) Clean both mating surface of oil pan and cylinder block.
(2) Apply a 4 mm wide bead of sealant to the entire
circumference of the oil pan flange.
Specified sealant:
MITSUBISHI GENUINE PART No. MD970389 or
equivalent
(3) The oil pan should be installed in 15 minutes after
application of sealant.
(4) Note the difference in bolt lengths at the location shown.
INSPECTION
FRONT CASE
(1) Check the oil holes for clogging a n d clean if necessary.
(2) Check the left silent shaft front bearing section for wear,
damage an d seizure. If there is anything wrong with the
section, replace the front case.
(3) Check the frontcase forcracks and otherdamage. Replace
cracked or damaged front case.
