Multiple phone-in commands
If you wish, you can issue more than one command at a time in a single pager message.
For example, let’s assume you have your AvantGuard III’s channel 4 output hooked up
to your convertible’s motorized top and it suddenly starts raining. You want to close the
top without activating the alarm sensors. Easy, just call your pager number and enter the
following (assuming your security code is 999):
-999--OFF1-ZapfDingbats"Q-OFF2--ACC-
The above command would turn off both sensors and then close the top. You could then
call again a minute or two later and issue the following command to turn both of the
sensors back on after the top has closed:
-999--ON1--ON2-
The only limitation on multiple commands is the total number of characters your
particular pager service will accept in one numerical message (the better services accept
24 characters or more). If your service can send only a maximum of 18 characters, the
first command above would turn off the sensors but, since the final would not be sent
by your pager service, the ACC command would not be executed and the top would not
close — you would have to make two calls to do all three commands.
