The IntelliPage phone-in command vocabulary (cont.)
ON2
(662)
— Same as the
ON1
command, but for the Piezo Sensor.
STOP (7867) — The STOP command has two distinctly different functions:
If your vehicle’s engine was remotely started either via the remote control or
the phone-in START command and the engine is still running, issuing the
STOP command will instruct your IntelliPage system to shut down the engine.
The most important use of the STOP command is either in an emergency
situation or to safely stop a car thief or a carjacker even while he’s driving the
car:
What to do if your vehicle is stolen or carjacked: the STOP command
If your vehicle is ever stolen or carjacked, call your IntelliPage phone number and issue
the STOP command:
-(your PIN code)--STOP (7867)-
If the vehicle was parked somewhere by the thief, issuing the STOP command will
sound the siren for whatever siren duration you have programmed (see page 26), flash
the parking lights and electronically immobilize your vehicle’s starter and ignition
systems. The thief will be unable to start the car. What’s more, you can repeatedly issue
the STOP command until someone will complain to the police because of the recurring
siren wail.
If your car is actually being driven by a thief or carjacker when you issue the
STOP
command, the parking lights will flash and the siren will sound immediately upon
receipt of the command. The system will then wait for the criminal to slow down for
traffic or a turn, then will automatically interrupt both the ignition and starter systems,
safely shutting down the engine and preventing it from being restarted (this ensures your
vehicle is stopped safely and without endangering others).
The system is so tamper-proof that, even if the thief were to find and remove the
IntelliPage control unit, he would still be unable to start the engine. What’s more, the
parking lights will flash repeatedly and continuously to draw attention to your disabled
vehicle. The parking lights will continue to flash and the vehicle will remain
immobilized until you can recover the vehicle and issue the START command (see
above) to clear the STOP command.
Remember, to clear a STOP command, you must send a START command.
