Regional Haul (R05/10)
Weekly Operations
1. Battery—check battery and terminals. Check battery
and alternator cables for signs of chafing.
2. Wheel Cap Nuts—are they all in place and torqued
properly—tighten if necessary. See “Wheel Cap Nut
Torque,” Page 203.
3. Other Controls and Wiring—check for condition and
adjustment.
4. Steering Components—check pitman arm, draglink,
and power steering hoses, etc., for loose, broken, or
missing parts.
5. Other Engine Compartment Checks
• Check condition and fastening of engine belt, hoses,
clamps, and radiator.
• Check the air cleaner, Diesel Particulate Filter, and
exhaust pipes. Are they tight and secure?
• After Engine Warm-up
– Automatic Transmission—check fluid level in
the automatic transmission oil (if equipped).
