5 Database Administration
Overview
This chapter provides information and procedures on how to administer
ORACLE databases for use with the voice system. The information in this
chapter is applicable only if you have the ORACLE 7 software installed on
your system.
This chapter includes procedures for determining database space
requirements, sizing the databases, and administering database tables. This
chapter also reviews the SQL*PLUS software program, a tool used to access
the ORACLE database.
Databases and the Voice System
Databases are used by the voice system to access various types of data,
depending on the application. However, the information in this chapter
focuses on ORACLE databases used to store and retrieve call data.
The information in databases is arranged into tables. The following section
describes the database tables associated with call data.
