c. If the float height is not within the specifica-
tion, check the valve seat and needle valve.
d. If either is worn, replace the valve seat,
needle valve and O-ring as a set.
e. If both are fine, adjust the float height by
bending the float tang “1” on the float.
f. Recheck the float height.

INSTALLING THE CARBURETOR
1. Install:
•Clamp

Align the projection “a” on the carburetor joint
with the slot “b” in the clamp.
2. Install:
• Carburetor joint
TIP
Align the projection “a” on the cylinder head
with the slot “b” in the carburetor joint.
3. Install:
•Carburetor
TIP
Align the projection “a” on the carburetor with
the slot “b” in the carburetor joint.
4. Install:
• Throttle cable
• Throttle cable cover
5. Adjust:
• Engine idling speed
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE ENGINE
IDLING SPEED” on page 3-5.
6. Adjust:
• Throttle cable free play
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE
CABLE FREE PLAY” on page 3-6.

2.0–4.0 mm (0.08–0.16 in)
