Telephone system
General rules
Put traffic safety first! If when driving you
require to use the privacy handset in the
armrest, park the car in a safe place first.
Switch off the telephone when refuelling.
Switch off the telephone in areas where
blasting work is being carried out.
Only allow authorised personnel service
your telephone.
Emergency calls
Emergency calls to emergency services
can be made without the ignition key or
the SIM card.
Press the ON/OFF button.
Ring the emergency number that applies
to your region (within EU: 112).
Press the green button .
Telephone system components
1. Keypad on centre console
All telephone functions can be controlled via
the keypad in the centre console.
2. Steering wheel keypad
The majority of telephone functions can be
controlled via the steering wheel keypad.
When the telephone is active, the keypad can
only be used for telephone functions.
Telephone information is always shown in the
display when the telephone is activated. The
telephone must be deactivated in order to use
the buttons for radio settings, see page 206.
3. Display
The display will show menu functions,
messages, telephone numbers, etc.
4. Privacy handset
The privacy handset can be used for private
conversations when you do not wish to be
disturbed.
5. SIM card
The SIM card is inserted below the keypad in
the centre console.
Switch off the telephone whenever a SIM
card is not in use. Otherwise, messages from
other functions cannot be shown in the
display.
6. Microphone
The microphone is integrated in the rearview
mirror.
7. Loudspeaker
The speaker is integrated in the driver’s seat
head restraint.
8. Antenna
The antenna is mounted against the
windscreen in front of the rearview mirror.
