Towing equipment
Towbars
The towball must be cleaned and greased
regularly. If a towball hitch with vibration
damper is used, it is not necessary to grease
the towball.
If the car is equipped with a detachable tow-
bar, the towball mounting instructions must
be followed carefully, see page 124.
NOTE! Always take off the towball section af-
ter use. Keep it in the cargo area.
Trailer cable
An adapter is required if the car’s towbar has
13 pin electrics and the trailer has 7 pin
electrics. Use an adapter cable approved by
Volvo. Make sure the cable does not drag on
the ground.
WARNING!
Be sure to attach the trailer’s safety cable
to the correct place.
WARNING!
If the car is fitted with a Volvo detachable
towbar:
Follow the assembly instructions for the
towball section carefully.
The towball section must be locked with
the key before setting off.
Check that the indicator window shows
green.
