MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
Engine Cooling System
Radiator Coolant Level In-
spection
NOTE: This procedure is only
required if the cooling system
has been drained for
maintenance and/or repair.
However, if the recovery bottle
has run dry, the level in the
radiator should be inspected and
coolant added if necessary.
To access the radiator pressure cap:
Remove the four screw securing front rack. Remove front cover by
placing your fingers under the front of the cover and pulling upward.
NOTE: Use of a non-standard pressure cap will not allow t he
recovery system to function properly. If the cap should need
replacement contact your dealer for t he correct replacement p art.
To insure that the coolant maintains its ability to protect the engine, it
is recommended that t he system be completely drained every two years
and a fresh mixture of antifreeze an d water b e added. Polaris
recommends the use of Polaris Premium 60/40 anti-freeze/coolant or a
50/50 mixture of high quality aluminum compatible anti-freeze/coolant
and distilled water.
NOTE: Polaris Premium 60/40 is already premixed and ready to use.
Do not dilute with water.
NOTE: Always follow t he manufacturer’s mixing recommendations
for the freeze protection required in your area.
Using a funnel, slowly add coolant as necessary through the radiator
filler neck.
