RIDING
Daily Pre-Ride Inspection
Inspect your 6x6 each time before riding to ensure it is in proper
working order. If proper inspection is not done, severe injury or death
could result.
If a proper inspection is not performed serious injur y or death
can result.
Always inspect your 6x6 before riding following the checklist
carefully.
Before riding your vehicle, inspect all oper ating controls and
parts.
Item/Inspection Procedure
D T ires - check condition and pressures
D Fuel and oil tanks - fill both tanks to their p roper levels
D All brakes - check operation, adjustment and fluid l evel (in-
cludes aux iliary brake)
D Throttle - check for free operation and closing
D Headlight/Taillight/Brakelight - check operation of all indicator
lights and switches
D Engine stop switch - check for proper function
D Wheels - check for tightness o f wheel nuts andaxle nuts; check
that axle nuts are secured by cotter p ins
D Drive chain - condition and s lack; refer to drive chain adjust-
ment
D Air c leaner element - check for dirt; clean or replace
D Steering - check for free operation noting any unusual loose-
ness in any area
D Loose par ts - visually inspect vehicle for any damaged or loose
nuts/bolts or fasteners
D Operators helm et, goggles and clothing
D Engine coolant - check for proper level at the recovery bottle.
D Check condition and operation of the dump box/bed latch
mechanism.
