Adjustments
Wheel Installation
1. Place the transmission in gear
and lock the parking brake.
2. Apply a small amount of
red Loctitet (provided with
your ATV) to the studs if
the nuts are regular nuts.
Do not apply Loctitet if
the nu ts have an a ttached
washer.
3. Place the w heel on the
wheel hu b with the valve stem
toward the outside and rotation
arrows on the tire pointing toward
forward rotation.
4. Install the wheel nuts and finger tighten.
5. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
6. Torque th e wheel nuts according to the wheel n ut torque
specifications chart.
NOTE: All nuts that have a cotter pin installed must be serviced by an
authorized Polaris dealer.
Wheel Nut Torque Specifications
Check the wheel nut torqu es occasio nally an d when th ey’ve been
loosened for maintenance service.
Bolt Size Speci fication
Front 3/8″ 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm)
Rear 3/8″ 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm)
Front Wheel Hub Tightening
Front wheel bearing tightness and spindle nut retention are critical
component operations. All service must be performed by your
authorized Polaris dealer.
