PVT System
PVT Drying
There may be some in stances when water is accid ently ingested into
the PVT system. Use the following instructions to dry it out before
operating:
1. Remove the drain plug and allow the water to drain. R eplace the
drain plug.
2. Start the engine and shift the transmission into neutral. Apply
varying throttle for 10-15 seconds to expel the moisture and air-dry
the belt and clutches. Do not hold the throttle wide open for more
than 10 seconds.
3. Allow the engine RPM to settle to idle speed, then shift the
transmission to the lowest available range.
4. Test for belt slippage. If the belt slips, repeat the process.
5. Take the vehicle to your dealer for service as soon as possible.
WARNING
Failure to comply with the instructions in this warning can result
in severe injury or death.
Do not modify any component of the PVT system. Doing so may
reduce its strength so that a failure may occur at a high speed.
The PVT system has been precision balanced. Any modification
will cause the system to be out of balance, creating vibration and
additional loads on components.
The PVT system rotates at high speeds, creat ing large amounts
of force on clutch components. Extensiv e engineering and
testing has been conducted to ensur e the safety of this produc t.
However , as the owner, you have the fo llowing responsibilities to
make sure this system remains safe:
Always fo llow all recommended maintenance procedures. S ee
your dealer as outlined in the owner’s manual.
This PVT syst em is intended for use on Polaris products only. Do
not install i t in any other pr oduct.
Always make sure th e PVT housing is sec urely in place during
operation.
