and tools provided. In addition to the standard applications and tools, the Magellan eXplorist Pro 10 includes
additional tools designed for use with the eXplorist Pro 10
Battery Type
The Magellan eXplorist Pro 10 will alert you as to when the battery power is low and the batteries require changing.
The accuracy of this alert depends on the type of battery installed. To get the optimum battery life (and to prevent
changing batteries more often then required) you should always set the battery selection to the type of batteries
being used.
NOTE: Do not mix battery types. Both batteries should be of the
same type.
Setting the Battery Type
1. From the Windows Start menu, tap on Settings.
2. Tap on System.
3. Tap on Battery Type.
4. Tap on Alkaline, Lithium or Recharegable.
Backlight
Using the backlight will drain the batteries at a much higher rate then with the backlight off. The Magellan eXplorist
Pro 10 provides the means to set the amount of time that elapses while the receiver is idle before it automatically
turns off the backlight. The timer is divided into two segments: Battery and External. While on external power there
isn’t the drain on the batteries so you may leave the backlight on but the option is there if needed.
Brightness (both on battery and external power) can be set from the Backlight Application. Choose the setting that
is best for your viewing conditions.
