7 Detours, Off-Route, and
Interruptions
If you encounter road construction, traffic jams or undesirable roads, the
navigation system can quickly calculate the most efficient detour to the
currently selected destination.
Detour Options
With the screen in the Guide Display mode, press the button. A Detour
Menu screen, similar to the Select Route Criteria screen (refer to “Selecting
Route Criteria” on page31 for more details) is displayed.

Different from the Select Route Criteria screen, however, are two new
options:
• Detour - Select this option if you would like to specify further detour
criteria to the system so it can reroute using selected detour
considerations.
• Cancel Guidance - Select this option to cancel route guidance. The
Main Menu is displayed. Select “Cancel Guidance” any time you want
to turn guidance OFF, or to enter a new destination.
If you select “Detour” option, a Select Detour Criteria screen is displayed.
Refer to Table 15 for descriptions of the displayed options.

Avoid Current Road Avoid the road you are currently on. Upon selecting this option, the route is
immediate recalculated.
