5. Unplug, disconnect or turn OFF all elec-
trical equipment.
_ CAUTION
Never start the, alternator with electrical
equipment plugged in and turned ON. Cor-
rect voltage and frequency can only be ob-
tained with engine running at governed
speed of 1800 rpm. Some electrical equip-
ment can be damaged by incorrect voltage
and/or frequency.

Engine Starts
1. Move Choke Lever all the way down to
CLOSED position.,
NOTE
Lesser amounts of choking may be re-
quired when engine is warm.
2. Hold Start/Stop switch at START position
to crank engine. Release switch when engine
starts. Then open choke gradually as engine
warms up.
CAUTION
Do not crank engine continuously for longer than about 30 seconds at a time. Excessively
long cranking periods may result in damage to the starter motor. Each 30 second cranking
period should be followed by at least a 1 minute "cooling off" period.
