CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND ENGINE OIL FILTER (16-VALVE ENGINES)
Preconditioned:
Engine at operating temperature.
1.
Unscrew and remove oil filler cap.
2.
Unscrew oil drain plug from oil pan and
drain engine oil.
3.
Remove oil filter with oil-filter wrench,
Special Tool 9204. Catch remaining oil.
4.
Clean drain plug and never forget to
replace seal. Tightening torque: 50 Nm
(37 ftlb).
5.
Lightly oil gasket of oil filter, screw in by
hand until gasket makes contact, and turn
through one further turn to tighten. To
ensure that filter is correctly seated,
recheck with oil-filter wrench. Tightening
torque (for guidance): 20 Nm (14 ftlb).
6.
Pour in engine oil, run ergine to operating
temperature and check for leaks.
7.
Check oil level with engine switched off.
