CHANGING ENGINE OIL FILTER
1. Park thevehicle on a level surfaceand apply
the parking brake.
2. Turn the engine off.
3. Placealarge drainpanunder theoil filter

4. Loosen the oil filter

with an oil filter
wrench byturning it counterclockwise.Then
remove the oil filter by turning it by hand.
CAUTION
Becareful notto burnyourself. Theengine
oil may be hot.
5. Wipethe engineoilfiltersealingsurfacewith
a clean rag.
CAUTION
Be sure toremove any old gasketmaterial
remaining on the sealing surface of the
engine. Failure to do so could lead to an
oil leak and engine damage.
6. Coat the gasket on the new filter with clean
engine oil.
7. Screwon theoil filteruntil aslight resistance
is felt, then tighten an additional 2/3 turn.
8. Start the engine and check for leakage
around the oil filter. Correct as required.
9. Turn the engine off and wait more than 10
minutes.Check theoil level.Add engineoil if
necessary.
When checking or replacement is required, we
recommend your NISSAN dealer for servicing.
CAUTION
Use Genuine NISSAN Matic S ATF. If
Genuine NISSAN Matic S ATF is not
available, Genuine NISSAN Matic J ATF
may also be used.
Using automatic transmission fluid
other than Genuine NISSAN Matic S
ATF or Matic J ATF will cause deteriora-
tion in driveability and automatic trans-
mission durability,and maydamage the
automatic transmission, which is not
coveredby theNISSAN newvehicle lim-
ited warranty.
The specifiedautomatic transmission fluidis also
describedon cautionlabels locatedin theengine
compartment.
