
7. Installing the DVD-ROM
• The DVD-ROM supplied with your ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 contains 2 programs:
- POI Manager: used to install “*.poi” or “*.asc” files on your system.
- SD Manager: to restore your SD card in the event of an error.
7.1. Connecting ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 to the PC
• To make sure that files are transferred from the PC to the ViaMichelin Navigation X-930
with maximum efficiency, we advise you to download and install the latest version of
Microsoft’s ActiveSync® software.
• If you have a Pocket PC© connected to your PC, you will need to disconnect it before
connecting your ViaMichelin Navigation X-930.
7.1.1. Connecting
• Plug the USB cable mini-connector into the ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 device.
• Plug the USB connector into your PC.
• Switch on your ViaMichelin Navigation X-930.
7.1.2. ActiveSync
• You do not need to establish a partnership to transfer files (e.g. POI) from your PC to the
ViaMichelin Navigation X-930.
• When asked if you want to establish a partnership, select "No" then click "Next".
Microsoft ActiveSync starts in
guest mode.
• You can now transfer POI files with POI Manager or use the SD Manager card restore
software.
7.2. Installing the DVD-ROM
• Connect the ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 to your PC
• Check that your PC's hard disk has enough free space (approximately 1GB) to install the
ViaMichelin software.
• Insert the DVD-ROM in your PC’s DVD drive.
