2. Loosen the locknut on each side of
the swingarm.
3. To tighten the drive belt, turn the
adjusting bolt on each side of the
swingarm in direction

bolt on each side of the swingarm

, and then push the
rear wheel forward.
NOTE:
_
Using the alignment marks on each
side of the swingarm, make sure that
both belt pullers are in the same posi-
tion for proper wheel alignment.

CAUTION:
_
Improper drive belt slack will over-
load the engine. Keep the drive belt
slack within the specified range.

4. Tighten the locknuts, the axle nut
and the brake caliper bracket bolt
to the specified torques.
1. Brake caliper bracket bolt 1. Locknut (× 2)
2. Drive belt slack adjusting bolt (× 2)
3. Alignment marks
Tightening torques:
Locknut:
11.6 ft·lbf (1.6 m·kgf, 16 Nm)
Axle nut:
108.5 ft·lbf (15.0 m·kgf, 150 Nm)
Brake caliper bracket bolt:
21.7 ft·lbf (3.0 m·kgf, 30 Nm)
