Reassembly

The camshaft seal should be installed to a depth
of 1-1.5 mm (.039-.059 in.) below the top of the
seal bore. See Figure 11-2. Do not bottom the
seal in the bore or the oil passage may be
obstructed.

Install Connecting Rods with Pistons and
Rings
NOTE: The cylinders are numbered on the
crankcase. Make sure to install piston,
connecting rod, and end cap into its
appropriate cylinder bore as previously
marked at disassembly. Do not mix end
caps and connecting rods.

NOTE: Proper orientation of the piston/connecting
rod assemblies inside the engine is extremely
important. Improper orientation can cause
extensive wear or damage. Be certain the
pistons and connecting rods are assembled
exactly as shown in Figure 11-5.

Install Crankshaft
1. Lubricate the bearing surfaces of the crankcase
and crankshaft with engine oil.
2. Carefully slide flywheel end of crankshaft through
the bearing bore in crankcase. See Figure 11-3.
