The battery icon in the corner of
the Menu page indicates the status of the
nüvi battery. To increase the accuracy
of the battery gauge, fully discharge the
battery and then fully charge it. Do not
unplug the nüvi until it is totally charged.
When you turn off the nüvi, it still uses
a some of the battery. To stop the nüvi
from using the battery, remove the
battery.
Charging Your nüvi
Use the vehicle power cable.
Use the USB cable.
Use the AC adapter cable.
Replacing the Battery
If you need to replace the battery in the
nüvi, use a Garmin lithium-ion battery
010-10987-03. Purchase a replacement
battery at http://buy.garmin.com.

Removing the Battery
1. Slide the battery cover off the back of
the nüvi.
2. Using your nger, gently lift the
battery up and out of the battery
compartment.

CAUTION: Do not use a sharp object
to remove the battery. A sharp object
may puncture the battery which may
present a risk of re, chemical burn,
electrolyte leak, and/or injury.
Disposing of the Battery
Contact your local waste disposal
department to properly recycle the
battery. Do not dispose of the battery as
municipal waste.
