BUS INTERFACE MODULE SETUP
The bus interface modules (BIM) are a future product added to Dakota Digital
instrumentation systems. They allow you to add auxiliary gauge functions, such as fuel
pressure, vac/boost, trans temp, etc., right into the system without having to add additional
gauges. All of the BIM readings are displayed below the tachometer bar graph display in the
message center. Switch 2 (SW2) is used to cycle through the various message screens.
More detailed instructions are supplied with the BIM units.
INFORMATION MENU
The information menu, “INFO” is used to display software code information should you
have any troubles, this information can be useful for troubleshooting as well as the current
speedometer calibration value if using the normal speed input (SPD SND).
Press and hold SW 1 while turning the key on.
Release the switch and then press and release SW1 to get to the “INFO” setup menu. You
should see “SE5x” on the speedometer display where x is the software number.
To view the current pulse per mile (PPM) setting, press and hold the SW1 until “ -” “INFO
is displayed.
Release the switch and the odometer will show the current PPM setting/calibration value.
Press and release the switch to go on to the next setup menu.
GEAR SETUP
The gear menu, “GEAR” is used to select how you want the system to display gear
position info. This information can only be displayed if an optional gear sending unit from
Dakota Digital, part number GSS-2000 is purchased, and wire the GEAR (1-WIRE) input or if
the Dakota Digital BIM-01-1 OBDII bus interface is purchased and connected with a compatible
transmission.
Press and hold SW 1 while turning the key on.
Release the switch and then press and release SW1 to get to the “GEAR” setup menu.
Press and hold the switch until “ -” “GEAR” is displayed to enter the setup menu, then release
SW1.
Press and release SW1 to scroll through the display options“PRND21”“OVRDRV” “NONE
o Selecting “PRND21” the message center will display PRND21
o Selecting “OVRDRV” the message center will display PRNOD21
o Selecting “NONE” the message center will not display any gear information
When the desired option is displayed; press and hold SW1 until you get “ -” “DONE
Release the switch to go onto the next menu
