4. Install the engine oil drain bolt, and
then tighten it to the specified
torque.
5. Refill with the specified amount of
the recommended engine oil, and
then install and tighten the engine
oil filler cap.

● In order to prevent clutch slip-
page (since the engine oil also
lubricates the clutch), do not
mix any chemical additives. Do
not use oils with a diesel speci-
fication of “CD” or oils of a high-
er quality than specified. Make
sure that the engine oil doesn’t
contain friction-reducing addi-
tives.
● Make sure that no foreign mate-
rial enters the crankcase.
6. Start the engine, and then let it idle
for several minutes while checking
it for oil leakage. If oil is leaking, im-
mediately turn the engine off and
check for the cause.
7. Turn the engine off, and then
check the oil level and correct it if
necessary.

After changing the engine oil, be
sure to check the oil pressure as de-
scribed below.
8. Remove the bleed bolt, start the
engine and keep it idling until oil
flows out. If no oil comes out after
several minutes, turn the engine
off immediately and consult a
Yamaha dealer for inspection.
9. After checking the oil pressure,
tighten the bleed bolt to the speci-
fied torque.
