Hauling Cargo
Towing Loads
WARNING
Towing improperly c an alter v ehicle handling and may cause loss
of c ontrol or b rake instability, which c an result in serious injury or
death. Always follow these precautions when towing:
Never load more than 150 lbs. (68.1 kg) tongue weight on the
towing bracket.
Do not operate the vehicle faster than 10 mph (16 k m/h) when
towing. Towing a trailer increases braking distance.
Do not tow more than the r ecommended weight for the vehicle.
See the towing capacity chart below and the s pecifications charts
beginning on page 100.
Attach a trailer to the trailer hitch bracket only. Do not attach a
trailer to any other location or y ou may lose control of the vehicle.
Never tow a trailer on a grade steeper than 15°.
