Avoid parking on an incline if possible. If it’s unavoidable, follow
these precautions:
1. Place the transmission in gear.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Block the rear wheels on the downhill side.
WARNING
A rolling vehicle can c ause property damage and serious injur y.
Always apply the parking brake after stopping the engine. Always
block the downhill s ide of the wheels i f leaving the vehicle on a
hill, or park the vehicle in a sidehill position instead.
Operating the vehicle while the parking brake is engaged could
cause loss of control and result in serious injur y or death. Always
disengage the parking brake before operating t he vehicle.
