Brake Unit MT-BU5
The MT-BU5 external brake units can be
used with frequency inverter models
FR-F740-01800 and above. These inverters
are fitted with a connector via which the
MT-BU5 brake unit is controlled directly.
This connection also makes it possible for
the FR-F740 to handle the protection of
the MT-BU5 against thermal overloads.
Brake resistors must be chosen in accor

dance with your application’s require

ments. The configurations in the table are
only general recommendations. Please
consult Mitsubishi Electric for advice on
matching the correct brake modules and
brake resistors for your application.

cy inverters FR-F 740 EC/E1 is used exclusi-
vely in combination with a brake unit

brake duty specified in the table above.
