When Warning Indicator/Beep is Activated
Under the following conditions, warning beeps are heard and a warning/indicator light in
the instrument cluster illuminates to notify the driver of improper operation of the
advanced key to prevent theft of the vehicle (page 3-20).
Warning How to check
When a dooris open, a continuous beepsound willbe
heard.
Check whether thepush buttonstart has been switched
off.
When a dooris open, 3 beep soundsare heard,and the
KEY warning light(red) in the instrument cluster
flashes.
Check whether theadvanced keyhas been removed
from the vehicle.
When a dooris closed, a beep soundis heard 6 times,
and the KEYwarning light (red) in theinstrument
cluster flashes.
Check whether theadvanced keyhas been removed
from the vehicle.
When locking thedoors orclosing the trunk, the chime
sounds for aboutten seconds.
Check whether theadvanced keyhas been left in the
vehicle or the trunk.
When attempting to lock the doors by pressing the
request switch onthe front doors, and sixbeep sounds
are heard.
Check whether thepush buttonstart has been switched
off.
Check whether adoor is open.
When the KEYindicator light (green) flashesin the
instrument cluster.
The advanced keybattery power is low. Replace the
battery with a new one.

When the KEYwarning light(red) remains illuminated
in the instrumentcluster.
The advanced keyis malfunctioning.Park the vehicle in
a safe place, and use theauxiliary key to continue
driving the vehicle.Have the vehicle inspected atan
Authorized Mazda Dealeras soon as possible.
