SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Tooloperatorsandmaintenancepersonnelmustalways
complywiththesafetyprecautionsgiveninthismanu-
al and on the decals and tags attached to the tool and
hose.
Thesesafetyprecautionsaregivenforyoursafety.Re-
viewthemcarefullybeforeoperatingthetoolandbefore
performinggeneralmaintenanceorrepairs.
Supervisingpersonnelortheowneroperatorshouldde-
velopadditionalprecautionsrelatingtothespecicwork
areaandlocalsafetyregulations.Placetheaddedpre-
cautionsinthespaceprovidedinthismanual.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
TheHydraulicBreakerwillprovidesafeanddependable
serviceifoperatedinaccordancewiththeinstructions
giveninthismanual.Readandunderstandthismanual
andanydecalsandtagsattachedtothebreakerbefore
operation.Failuretodosocouldresultinpersonalinjury
orequipmentdamage.
• Operatethebreakerinaccordancewithalllawsand
regulationswhichaffectyou,yourequipment,and
theworksite.
• Donotoperatethebreakeruntilyouhavereadthis
manualandthoroughlyunderstandallsafety,opera-
tion and maintenance instructions.
• The operator must be familiar with all prohibited
workareassuchasexcessiveslopesanddanger-
ous terrain conditions.
• Donotoperatethebreakeruntilyouhavereadthe
carrier equipment manual and thoroughly under-
standallsafety,operationandmaintenanceinstruc-
tions. Theword “carrier”, as used in this manual,
meansabackhoeorexcavatororsimilarequipment
usedtooperatethebreaker.
• Ensure that all maintenance procedures recom-
mendedinthismanualarecompletedbeforeusing
theequipment.
• Theoperatormustnotoperatethebreakerorcarrier
ifanypeoplearewithintheareawheretheymaybe
injuredbyyingdebrisormovementoftheequip-
ment.
• Knowthelimitsofyourequipment.
• Establishatrainingprogramforalloperatorstoen-
suresafeoperation.
• Donotoperatethetoolunlessthoroughlytrainedor
underthesupervisionofaninstructor.
• Becomefamiliarwiththecarriercontrolsbeforeop-
eratingthecarrierandthebreaker.
• Whenoperatingthebreakeryoumustuseearpro-
tection,eyeprotection,andbreathingprotection.
• Whilelearningtooperatethebreakerandcarrier,do
soataslowpace.Ifnecessary,setthecarriermode
selectortotheslowposition.
• Warning:Useofthistooloncertainmaterialsduring
demolitioncouldgeneratedustpotentiallycontain-
ingavarietyofhazardoussubstancessuchasas-
bestos,silicaorlead.Inhalationofdustcontaining
these orother hazardoussubstances couldresult
inseriousinjury,cancerordeath.Protectyourself
and those around you. Research and understand
thematerialsyouarecutting.Followcorrectsafety
proceduresandcomplywithallapplicablenational,
state or provisional health and safety regulations
relatingtothem,including,ifappropriatearranging
forthesafedisposalofthematerialsbyaqualied
person.
