Spark Arrestor
5. Quickly squeeze and
release the throttle lever
several times to purge
carbon from the system.
6. If carbon comes out of the
exhaust, cover or plug the
exhaust outlet (1). Wear
leather gloves for
protection.
7. Lightly tap on the exhaust
pipe with a rubber mallet
while repeating step 5.
8. If particles are still
suspected to be in the
muf fler, elevate the rear
of the vehicle 30 cm
higher than the front.
9. Lock the mechanical
parking brake.
10. Block the wheels.
11. Repeat steps 5 to 7 until no more particles are expelled.
12. Turn the engine off. Allow the arrestor to cool.
13. Reinstall the arrestor plug and remove the exhaust outlet cover or
plug.
