Clifford 800 Automobile Alarm User Manual

TO SILENTLY
ARM OR DISARM
THE SYSTEM . . . . . . .
Press button 3 (channel 3). Your IntelliGuard 800 system will
arm or disarm with all the indications noted on the previous page
except for the chirp acknowledgments.
TO REMOTELY
TURN ON THE
HEADLIGHTS
(OR OTHER
TIMED OPTION) . . . .
Button 2 (channel 2) controls an electronic interlock that allows
you to separately command two different options with the same
channel: one when the system is armed and another when it is
disarmed. Pressing remote control button 2 while the alarm is
armed will activate the system’s built-in timer circuit. This output
is primarily used to optionally activate the headlights for any
duration of your choosing between 1 second and 2.5 minutes (the
timer is factory preset to 30 seconds; see User-selectable features
on pages 20–22).
TO REMOTELY
OPEN THE TRUNK . . .
As noted above, button 2 (channel 2) can control yet another
function when the system is disarmed. Usually, this is an optional
remote trunk release. Thus, pressing button 2 while the alarm is
disarmed will remotely open the trunk (NOTE: to ensure against
accidental activation of the trunk release while driving, the
electronic interlock will prevent remote activation of the trunk
release while the ignition is on).
TO ACTIVATE
OTHER OPTIONS
REGARDLESS OF
ALARM STATE. . . . . . .
Button 4 (channel 4) and channels 5–8 (see How to use your
keychain remote control on page 8) can activate other accessories
such as the Clifford Electronics IntelliStart™ remote engine
starter, remote memory seat activation, SmartWindows II remote
power window/sunroof roll-down and venting, a Programmable
Receiver that lets you command your electric garage door/gate
opener(s), etc.
What about
channels 9 – 12?. . . .
Channels 9 through 12 control your IntelliGuard 800’s Remote
QuickAccess™ features: remote valet mode entry/exit, remote
override of the exterior warning zone of the Proximity Sensor,
remote override of both Proximity Sensor zones, and remote
adjustment of each of the two zones. See Remote QuickAccess
features on page 14 for details.
AntiScan™
Thieves can disarm some other brands of car alarms with a “scanner” than rapidly
transmits one remote control code after another. Clifford’s AntiScan will detect any
scanner and block the codes it generates.
