
A Word About Selecting Paper
With an ink jet printer, paper absorbency is an important com-
ponent for good print quality. Paper which is either too absor-
bent or not absorbent enough will give you less than optimum
print quality.
You can see in Figure 1-16 what happens when paper is used
which soaks up too much ink. The ink tends to bleed, causing
blurred or smeared characters.
Figure 1-17 shows what can happen when paper is not absor-
bent enough. The characters take too long to dry and are easily
smeared.

Most dense-weave paper (of the quality used for business cor-
respondence) can be used in the SQ-2000 without problems.
However, it’s a good practice to test the paper in your printer
before purchasing a large quantity. Of course, you should also
test labels and preprinted forms.
