Hinge Cover
Removing the Hinge Cover
CAUTION: Before you begin the following procedure, follow the safety
instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist
grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the
back panel) on the computer.
NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery
(see "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on page 156) before working inside the
computer.
NOTICE: The hinge cover is fragile and can be damaged if extreme force is used.
Be careful when removing the hinge cover.

Follow the instructions in "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on
page 156.
NOTICE: To help avoid damage to the hinge cover, ensure that it is snapped
securely into place before you rotate the display open to 180 degrees.

Open the display all the way (180 degrees) so that it lies flat against your
work surface.

Using a small plastic scribe, insert the scribe on the right side to gently pry
the hinge cover loose.

Pulling up from right to left, remove the hinge cover.
