left-side (non-drive) wheel.
NOTE: The left side (non-drive) axle and locking nuts have
backwards threading. This axle is special and is not compatible with
the drive-side of the Electric Scream Machine. This axle is also not
compatible with previous versions of the Scream Machine.
Using a 6mm Allen key, carefully thread the axle into the frame by
turning counter clockwise as shown in Figure 3e.
Figure 3e. Tightening the backwards threaded axle.
When the locking nuts come in contact with the frame, check the wheel
to see if it spins freely or if there is excess side-to-side play. If it spins
free and there is just a slight end play, tighten the axle securely and,
using the 17mm wrench, tighten both locknuts against the frame. If the
wheel will not spin freely, loosen the locknuts and unthread the axle
about 1/4 turn and adjust the locking nuts in or out as shown in figure 3f
until the wheel spins free with little or no side play. The correct
adjustment is where the wheel spins free, has the least amount of end-
play as possible, and both lock nuts are tightened securely against the
frame.
