KEYLESS ENTRY ALARM UPGRADE MODULE
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PRE-INSTALLATIONNOTES:
STAND ALONE PASSIVE ALARM
When installing the APS-30 as a stand alone passive alarm system, the dip switches must be set as follows;
Dip Switch#1=ON
Dip Switch#2=ON
Dip Switch#3=OFF
Dip Switch#4=OFF
Dip Switch#5=OFF
Dip Switch#6=OFF
PASSIVE / ACTIVE ARMING SELECTION : DIP SWITCH # 1
This alarm can be programmed to operate as either a " PASSIVE " or " ACTIVE " arming security system.
As a passivearming system, thealarm will automaticallyarm 30 secondsafter the ignitionkey is turnedoff, one dooris opened, then
all doorsare closed.Additionally, ifa door hasbeen leftopened, orif oneof the triggerzones isdefective, thesystem willalways arm
10 minutesafter the ignitionkey has beenturned off, andignore the defectivetrigger zone.
Asan activearmingsystem,the alarmwillarmonly whenthevehicle’s doorshavebeenlocked usingtheexistingOEM KeylessEntry
Transmitter.
The systemis shippedfrom the factoryin theactive arming mode,and toselect thepassive arming mode,move dipswitch#1tothe"
ON " position.
1 OR 2 WIRE DISARM INPUT SELECTION : DIP SWITCH # 2
This alarm can beprogrammed for either 1 wireor 2 wire disarm operation.
ManyOEMkeylessentrysystemsuseon-boarddoorunlockrelays,whichusuallyresultsintheabilitytodisarmtheaftermarketsecurity
upgrademodulebyunlockingthedoorsusingthedoorpanelunlockswitch.Wiringthesystemfor2wiredisarmwilleliminatethisproblem.
The system is shipped fromthe factory in the 2 wire disarmmode, and to select the 1 wiredisarm mode, move dip switch#2tothe"
ON " position.
HORN OR SIREN OUTPUT SELECTION : DIP SWITCH # 3
This systemprovides an outputthat should beused to drivethe siren, butcan be programmedto pulse thevehicle's horn.
When utilizing the horn, an additional relay is required. Caution: on many vehicles the factory horn is not designed
forcontinuoususe,anditisrecommendedthatthesirenisusedforthesevehicles.Checktoseeifthehorninthevehicle
is the same part that is used in a vehicle with the factory installed security system.
