Checking the riding sag of the shock absorber

ದ Measure distanceb of rear wheel unloaded. ( P. 34)
ದ With another person holding the motorcycle, sit on the saddle with full protective
clothing in a normal sitting position (feet on footrests) and bounce up and down a
few times until the rear suspension levels out.
ದ The other person now has to measure the distance between the rear axle and a
fixed point.

ದ The shock absorber is filled with highly compressed nitrogen, so never dismantle the shock absorber or carry out any main-
tenance on it yourself.

Before changing the spring preload, make a note of the present setting, e.g., by measuring the length of the spring.

ದ After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.
