3. Thehoodisclosed
4. ThebrakepedalisNOTdepressed.
5. Theprogrammedvoltagetrippointismeasuredbythemodule.
IfthevehicleisidlingunderthecontroloftheIdlerightFuelManagementSystem,thevehicle’s
enginewillautomaticallyshutdownifANYofthefollowingconditionsoccur:
1. Thehoodisopened
2. Thebrakepedalispressed
3. TheprogrammedEngine
IdleTimeexpires
Nootherinputfromthevehicleoperatorisrequired.ToensuretheIdlerightFuelManagement
Systemwillfunctionproperly,itisimportanttotestthe systemanditsprogrammingpriorto
releasingthevehicleintoservice.Whilethedefaultprogrammingissuitableformostgasoline
vehicles,thereare
otherfactorsthatcouldleadtosystemfailures.Forinstance,anaged
vehicle,withanoldwornbatteryandaninefficientwarninglightsystemwillrequireahigher
detectionvoltageandlongerruntimethanabrandnewvehiclewithanLEDwarningsystem.
Otherfactorslikeclimateshouldalsobetakenintoconsideration.Forexample,colderclimates
mayrequirehigherdetectionvoltageandlongercranktimethanwarmerclimates.Sincethe
