• Compass—switches from an
electronic compass to a GPS
compass when you are traveling
at a higher rate of speed for a set
period of time (Auto), or turns the
compass off.
• Calibrate Compass—page 36.
From the main menu, select Setup >
Altimeter.
• Auto Calibration—allows the
altimeter to self-calibrate each time
you turn the device on.
• Barometer Mode
◦ Variable Elevation—allows the
barometer to measure changes
in elevation while you are
moving.
◦ Fixed Elevation—assumes
the device is stationary at a
xed elevation. Therefore, the
barometric pressure should only
change due to weather.
NOTE: Use this feature when
you plan to remain stationary.
Trip data is not recorded when
Fixed Elevation is on.
• Pressure Trending
◦ Save When Power On—
records pressure data only when
the device is turned on. This
can be useful when you are
watching for pressure fronts.
◦ Save Always—records pressure
data every 15 minutes, even
when the device is turned off.
• Plot Type
◦ Elevation/Time—records
elevation changes over a period
of time.
