Assembly
• Position the engine platform on a flat surface.
• Position the engine housing over the engine platform
so that the tab (with spring) on the engine housing is
on the same side as the adjuster bolt hole on the
engine platform.
• With the engine housing angled as shown, fit the
tab (with spring) through the opening in the engine
platform .
• Fit the peg on the side of the engine platform opening
into the hole in the engine housing .
• Gently flex the opposite engine platform wall to fit the
peg on the other side of the engine platform into the
hole in the engine housing.

• Press firmly to insert the end of the adjuster bolt through
the hole in the engine platform. This is a tight fit and
you will need to press firmly.
• Rotate the adjuster bolt to screw it into the engine
platform.

• Turn the pretend engine assembly upside down.
• Insert two #8 x

" trusshead screws into the pegs.
Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Do
not over-tighten.
Helpful Hint! It's easiest to tighten the screws using a
small screwdriver.
• Note the two connectors at the ends of the battery wire
harness and the connector at the end of the idle unit
wire harness.
• Plug the idle unit wire harness connector to the shorter
of the two battery wire harness connectors. To plug the
two connectors together, align the slot on the idle unit's
connector with the tab on the inside of the battery
harness' connector and press firmly.
• Position the pretend engine assembly upright.
• Loosen the screws in the battery compartment lid using
a Phillips screwdriver and remove the lid.
• Insert four size "C" (LR14) alkaline batteries in the
correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
