Power Windows
{ CAUTION:
Leaving children in a vehicle with the keys is
dangerous for many reasons, children or others
could be badly injured or even killed. They could
operate the power windows or other controls or
even make the vehicle move. The windows will
function and they could be seriously injured or
killed if caught in the path of a closing window.
Do not leave keys in a vehicle with children.
When there are children in the rear seat use the
window lockout button to prevent unintentional
operation of the windows.
The power window
switches are located on
each door near the armrest.
Press the front of the switch to the first position to open
the window to the desired level. Lift the front of the
switch to the first position to close the window.
The vehicle has Retained Accessory Power (RAP) that
allows power windows to be used once the ignition has
been turned off. For more information, see Retained
Accessory Power (RAP) on page 2-25.
Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the express-up and index-up features will not function
until the system is initialized. Once power is restored,
do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by lifting the front of the power
window switch.
3. Lift the switch for three seconds after the window is
closed. Release the switch. Then lift the switch
again for three seconds.
The express-up system must be initialized to operate
the windows with the door open.
