PTIONS
Valvcon's various board options simply plug in to the motherboard to provide various methods of control. The
following paragraphs show how to calibrate and operate each board option. A V-series actuator can
accommodate only one option board.
2.2.1 TIMER BOARD OPTION (ORDER CODE "A")
Valvcon's Timer Board Kit provides low-cost automation for basic ON/OFF applications. The plug-in Timer Board
is equipped with two banks of miniature switches for setting the duration of the Valve Open Time and the Valve
Closed Time.
Consult Valvcon Installation and Operation Manual

2.2.2 CYCLE RATE REGULATOR OPTION (ORDER CODE "B")
(See instructions at the end of this section for use with the heater thermostat, or retransmit option) Valvcon's
Cycle Rate Regulator (CRR) Board is intended for use in applications requiring extended cycle times such as
steam lines which should be opened slowly to avoid shock damage or fluid systems which should be opened
and/or closed slowly to avoid water hammer damage. The CRR Board permits an increase of the cycle time from
2 to approximately 200 times the normal cycle time for clockwise movement, counterclockwise movement or both.

Modes of Operation
The CRR Board can operate in three different modes:
Mode 1 - Both the clockwise and counterclockwise operations are regulated.
Mode 2 - Only the clockwise operation (closing) is regulated. The counterclockwise (opening) operation
cycle time for the actuator is unaffected.
Mode 3 - Only the counterclockwise operation (opening) is regulated. The clockwise (closing) operation
cycle time for the actuator is unaffected.
