Failure to obey a safety warning can result in injury to yourself or others.Always follow the safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock andpersonal injury.
1. Read andunderstand this owner's manual beforeusing this unit. Be thoroughlyfamiliar with the properuse of your Xebra.
2. Thoroughly inspect your Xebra for loose or damaged parts before each use. If there are any loose or damaged parts, have a
technician perform theneeded adjustments or repairs beforestarting your Xebra.
1. You should not smoke while operating a Xebra. Keep the Xebra away from open flames such as lighters, etc. Never smoke while
charging.
2. The operator must know and obey all local laws concerning the operation of, and equipment requirements of, electric vehicles.
Make sure that your equipment and operation of your electric vehicle meets these standards. Failure to obey these laws may result in
severe injury ordeath.
3.AVOIDUNINTENTIONAL STARTING -Do not leave the Xebrawith the key inthe ignition when not inuse.
4. DO NOTdisassemble the motor controller. Return the Xebrato your authorized service dealerfor service or repair.
5. DO NOT wash the exterior of the car with the center headlight on! The light gets very hot and immersion with cold water can crack
the glass.

BATTERY WARNINGS
CHARGER WARNINGS
1. To reduce the risk of injury, use only batteries provided or recommended by ZAP. Other batteries may explode causing personal
injury and damage.
2. DO NOTPLACE THEBATTERYNEAR FIRE OR HEAT. It couldexplode.
3. Batteries canemit explosive gases while beingcharged. Read the instructions suppliedbefore attempting to chargeyour battery.

1. Before charging,read the applicable sections, includingBATTERY Charger,Battery Maintenance and Power Cord.
2. USE ONLY THE APPROVED GAUGE POWER CORD with your Xebra. Use of any other cord could cause the battery to explode,
causing serious injury.
3. Do notexpose the charger to moistureor water.
4. To reduce therisk of damage to thecharger and cord, disconnectthe charger by taking theplug
in hand andpulling it out of thewall. Don't disconnect itby pulling on the cord.
5. Make surethe cord is located sothat it will notbe stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise be subjectto damage or stress.
6. Animproper extension cord could resultin fire or electricshock. If you must usean extension cord ensurethat:
a. Thepins on the plug ofthe extension cord arethe same number as thecharger. It mustbe grounded.
b. Theextension cord is the propersize for the amperageand in good electrical condition.
7. If thecord or plug is damaged,replace the cord completely.
8. Do notoperate the Xebra if ithas received a sharpblow, been struck, orbeen damaged in any way.
9. Do notdisassemble the charger.The charger is notserviceable. Disassembly may result inelectric shock or fire.
10. To reduce therisk of electric shock, unplugthe charger from theoutlet before cleaning the Xebra
11.It is ideal to chargein dry or shelteredconditions. Charging in heavy rainor precipitation may leadto mechanical or personal harm.
12. Charge ina well-ventilated area away fromsparks, flames and smokingareas.
13. For optimum performance, your Xebra should be charged in a location where the temperature is more than 50 deg. F (10 deg. C)
but less than100 deg. F (37 deg.C). See BATTERY MAINTENANCE.
